Project Mayhem: Gravity
Mission Statement:
Project Mayhem is about the purity and enjoyment of the game, the development of skills, and making great friends.
Project Mayhem's subsidary team, Gravity, is exactly that, with the added goal of growing the sport by actively seeking out new players. The objective of team Gravity is to grow the sport of paintball, and though our focus may deviate from time to time, the sole purpose of creating this group of outstanding gentlemen was, and is, to bring new players into the game.
"I put out an ad for players to show up to a very informal 'tryout', and of the 8 or 9 that had showed up, very few of them weren't a good fit for the team. I feel very lucky in having found players that have the drive to become better players.
The main intent for creating the team (Gravity), was to bring new, less experienced players into the world of competitive play. I, myself, was very new to the intense level of play that speedball brings to the world of paintball only a few months ago. Though I still get no thrill from it like that I do from woodsball, I've noticed changes in my play style. The mix of aggression and strategy, to me, has become much like mixing a good drink. Strategy is the mix you put in your drink, and aggression the liquor.
Too much strategy and you get no thrill, as nothing goes to plan.
Too much aggression and you get a hangover, walking to and from the deadbox, cursing the mistakes made.
But the right blend, oh, that's the sweetest taste. Being able to make quick, effective team decisions on-the-fly, while pushing back enemy lines."
